Overview: AWS Optimization & PHP Job Management

We are seeking an experienced AWS Engineer with a strong background in managing and optimizing background PHP jobs. This role focuses on addressing performance and configuration challenges within our AWS environment to stabilize and streamline our setup for the Steeldash project. This is a short-term contract with potential for ongoing work.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and optimize PHP background job processes running on AWS.
• Configure and maintain core AWS services, including EC2 instances, RDS, and S3.
• Improve system reliability, uptime, and job execution efficiency.
• Review current infrastructure to suggest performance or cost optimizations.
• Collaborate with the internal development team to implement and document technical solutions.

Requirements:

• Proven experience with AWS infrastructure (EC2, CloudWatch, SQS, Lambda, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of PHP job queues and background process management.
• Familiarity with Linux server administration and performance tuning.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and independently.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Shopify or other eCommerce integrations.
• Knowledge of Docker or containerized PHP applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines on AWS.

Project Details & Compensation:

Job Types: Contract, Temporary
Pay: $25.00 - $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 per week
